Starter policy

This is a plain-language starting point, not legal advice. Please have it reviewed, and update it before you turn on advertising, affiliate links, or any new data collection.

The short version

Our calculators run entirely in your web browser. The details you type in, like your dog's age or size, are not sent to us or stored on our servers. You never need an account, a name, or an email address to use any tool. The exceptions are questions you type into Ask Pawrennial and, if you choose, signing up for birthday notes (both below).

Analytics

We use privacy-friendly analytics (Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights) to understand which pages are visited and how fast they load. These tools collect aggregated, anonymous information such as page views, referring sites, country, device type, and page performance. They do not use cookies to track you across other websites.

Ask Pawrennial (the question box)

When you ask a question, the text is sent to an AI service (currently OpenAI), only to work out which of our pages answer it. We ask the service not to store it. The answers you see are always our own page text. We don't store your questions or link them to you. Please don't include personal details, like your name or address, in a question.

Birthday notes (our email list)

If you sign up for birthday notes, we collect your email address and, if you choose, your dog's name. We also save your dog's size, life stage, and approximate birth month from the calculator, so each email fits your dog. We ask you to confirm your email before sending anything, and every email has an unsubscribe link.

Our email list is run by Kit (ConvertKit), which stores these details on our behalf. We never sell your information. To have your details deleted, unsubscribe or email us at contact@pawrennial.com.

Shared links

When you use the share button, the link includes your dog's age and size so the result can be shown to whoever opens it. Anyone with that link can see those two details. It contains nothing else about you.

Advertising and affiliate links

Some pages include affiliate links (see our affiliate disclosure). When you click one, the partner may use a cookie to know you came from us. We may also show ads in the future to keep the site free. Ad partners may use cookies or similar technology to show relevant ads and measure them. If we add them, we will update this policy, and where the law requires it we will ask for your consent first.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Vercel. Like most web hosts, Vercel processes standard technical information such as IP addresses to deliver pages and protect the service.

Children

Pawrennial is a general audience site and does not knowingly collect information from children.
