About Pawrennial
Why "Pawrennial"?
A perennial is a plant that comes back season after season. Our pets are a bit like that: they change from year to year, but they're with us through all of it. Pawrennial is built around that whole journey, with tools for every stage of a pet's life rather than just one moment of it.
Why it exists
Pet owners ask the same questions again and again. How old is my dog in human years? Can she eat that? Is this temperature normal? When are the kittens due? The answers online are often buried in long articles, out of date, or quietly wrong. The old rule that one dog year equals seven human years, for example, doesn't match what researchers have found about how dogs really age.
Pawrennial gives quick, clear answers you can use on your phone in seconds, and shows exactly where each one comes from.
What you'll find here
There are 12 free calculators and checkers, 48 "can my pet eat this?" food guides, and 7 care guides, covering every stage:
- New arrivals: puppy vaccine schedules, growth predictions, kitten milestones, and when the eyes open.
- The everyday years: how much to feed, which human foods are safe, and what a normal temperature looks like.
- Big life events: heat cycles, pregnancy due dates, and a week-by-week plan for the birth.
- The golden years: age in human years, senior life stages, and how long dogs and cats usually live.

How we keep things accurate
- Our numbers come from published veterinary references and research, like the Merck Veterinary Manual, AAHA guidelines, VCA Animal Hospitals, the ASPCA, and peer-reviewed studies.
- Every page lists its sources, so you can check them yourself.
- We explain how each calculator works on the methodology page, including where an estimate stops being useful.
- We recheck our sources regularly and show the date we last did.
- Health and safety come first: when something could be urgent, we tell you to call a vet.
What we're not
We're not a vet clinic, and our tools give estimates and general information, not a diagnosis. They're a good place to start a conversation with your vet, never a replacement for one. If you think your pet is unwell or has eaten something dangerous, call your vet or an emergency clinic straight away.
Everything here is free, and you never need an account. Our privacy policy explains the little information we collect.
